FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

  1. How do I know if my glass scratch can be repaired?

A simple test is to run your fingernail over the damage. If your nail catches in the groove, it is a deeper scratch, but professional polishing can still level it out and restore clarity in about 95% of cases without replacing the pane.

  2. Will polishing cause optical distortion or leave a cloudy haze?

No. When performed by a trained technician, multi-stage polishing levels the glass surface evenly. Your view remains completely clear, flat, and true, with zero wave patterns, haze, or distortion.

  3. What types of glass can you work on?

We restore almost all flat glass including tempered glass, laminated safety glass, standard float glass, double-pane units, and factory-tinted glass. We cannot polish Low-E glass, textured/frosted glass or glass with an aftermarket tint or film applied to the surface.

  4. Can you remove deep acid graffiti and hard water staining?

Yes. Acid-etched vandalism, deep scraper marks, and heavy mineral crust from sprinklers or ocean spray can be completely removed using specialised abrasive levelling compounds.

  5. Does the glass need to be removed from the frame?

No. All restoration is performed on-site with the glass fixed in place saving you the labor costs, downtime and mess of removing frames or window trim. We are a fully mobile service and bring all equipment directly to your home, business, marina, or job site.

  6. Does bad weather affect outdoor or marine glass polishing jobs?

Because glass polishing and ceramic coating applications require dry conditions and precise temperature control, heavy rain or high winds may require rescheduling outdoor jobs.

  7. How much money will I save compared to replacing the glass?

Glass restoration typically saves customers 50% to 80% compared to full glass replacement. You also eliminate long wait times for custom glass manufacturing and avoid paying contractor fees for frame removal and re-installation.

  8. Does the polishing process create a mess inside my home or business?

Yes and no. Initial dry-sanding stages do create fine glass dust, but we take extreme care to contain it. We mask off surrounding frames, walls, and flooring with protective sheeting before starting, and a complete, thorough clean-up is included as part of our process—leaving your property as clean as when we arrived.

  9. How long does the ceramic coating protection last?

Our hydrophobic ceramic coating lasts 2 to 3 years on residential and commercial windows, and 1 to 2 years on marine glass exposed to constant salt spray. It prevents minerals and grime from bonding to the glass, making routine cleaning effortless.

  10. Do you provide free quotes?

We provide free online estimates. Contact us
here and attach photos along with a brief description of the damage for a quick, free estimate. If an on-site inspection is required before starting the job, a call-out fee applies.

  11. How does your mobile service work, do you charge a travel fee?

We are a fully mobile service covering all of Greater Melbourne. Service within this area incurs no travel fees.

For jobs located outside of Greater Melbourne (Geelong, Bellarine, Yarra Valley, Gippsland, and regional Victoria) a travel fee applies to cover transport and time. All travel fees are clearly quoted upfront before any booking is confirmed.
